Happy birthday to las Chispitas!
In order of appearance into the world one year ago:
Shiloh, Cha Cha, Teaka, Mika, Blaze.
There have been many highlights over the year. Romping at the beach together, jumping in the pool, finding the bird, and . . . one in particular.
This past spring, we all stood on the shore with our wet feet, waiting for Mika to cross the creek. She took a few steps, and then froze with fear, unsure of her next step. While we talked about how to “rescue” her, Mama Chispa calmly and confidently emerged from our group, making her way across the stream to meet her pup. She gently kissed Mika on the lips, and turned around to show her the way back. Mika followed her mama’s every move across the stream. It was truly an amazing National Geographic experience!
